In 1882, the town was founded together with Baron Rothshild, by thirty immigrant families from Romania, and is therefor the oldest Zionist settlements in Israel.
Baron Rothschild had the synagogue build together with the buildings that make up the old city of Rosh Pina today, where you find several art galleries, cafes and restaurants. As the old city is build on a hill, you have a beautiful view from the Nimrod Lookout here, you can see Mount Hermon, Nimrod’s Fortress, Hazor, and the Hula Valley.
